For President's Day we made a food replica of Abe Lincoln's Log Cabin, what a delicious abode! :-)

We <3 whimsical art!

Preparing whimsical heart cookies for our visit from the artist Mrs. Marks!

We had a great time in Atlantic Station at the Bodies Exhibit. We learned so much more after observing real-life specimens!

Turtle bread! Mrs. Pitcher taught us to make bread from scratch! We learned so much about grains from her lesson.

Turtle Bread! Mrs. Pitcher taught us to make bread from scratch! We had a great time learning new things.

We invited Mayor Nancy Harris to give a presentation on community leadership during our chapel service. The students learned so much and enjoyed sharing stories with her.

Part of learning about the community is knowing who serves the community. The Gwinnett County Fire Department gave a wonderful presentation of how they keep the community safe. We were able to tour the fire truck, ask questions, and they even gave us all fire badges! We thanked them with a custom made fireman gift bag.

In art we made a wormy snack. Deee-licious!

In science we are learning how to live a life of wellness. Here we are working together to perform book sit ups. LET'S GO!!!

Kim Marks came to visit our classroom, share her art work and answer student questions about whimsical art. Kim's art work has been used on HGTV and in local stores in Georgia.

We work so hard to get good grades, so we treated ourselves to a Stevie B's trip... Mmmm games and pizza, doesn't get much better than that!

We made an electric circuit in science class!

In Science we've been experimenting with heat and energy. Ethan holds a  model thermometer in his hand. I wonder what temperature it will read?

Mrs. Kim Thompson, regional director of the Duluth Adventist Christian School, shared a wonderful worship thought about friendship during Bible class.

In Social Studies we are teaching others about our community. Each student has been assigned a pen pal from different communities around the World. Participants include students from Chicago, North Carolina, Indiana, and even Taiwan! We've mailed letters, photos, brochures and posters about the Atlanta area. We are anxiously waiting to hear back from them.
